The interrogation room was hot, smelling of sweat and fear. Jenny cried softly, wiping her nose on the inside of her t-shirt collar. Sergeant Ellis while sitting across from her, pushed a box of tissues across the table. Jenny snatched one and blew her nose. Sergeant Ellis shifted in the hard metal chair and began asking questions. “Jenny, did your mom. . .Did Anne ever try to hurt you?”
